ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM

Amazing students,

Monday, October 18th

Now that you know about the MAGNESTOSPHERE, let's find out some more interesting details about it.

Click here to watch an EdPuzzle video( Our classcode: baakzuh). And remember to take notes of what you have learnt by watching it.

... What is the biggest magnet on Earth?

If you guessed Earth itself, you would be right. Scientists believe that the deepest part of the Earth, its core, is made up of a mixture of iron and nickel. That gives Earth its own magnetic field which extends far into space. The magnetic field acts as a giant stop sign against solar wind, high speed particles that blow from the sun.

But if you want to know more about how it works, click on the picture below.

The first unit we have studied is Electricity and Magnetism, and the first thing we did is ..... GOING OVER THE UNIT ON ELECTRICITY we did last year.

But now, we are focused on Electromagnetism, and here you have the two videos we watched in class. Enjoy them and remember to write down the main ideas.

Electromagnets

Electromagnetic Induction
